Both of these “rescues” were coordinated and conducted by one of our main overseas partners, the Jewish Agency for Israel.  You made this happen on the wings of eagles.  Thank you.

On a lighter note, I am showing my black and gold pride with a friendly wager with my professional counterpart from the New York Federation.  John Ruskay is undoubtedly one of the brightest and best regarded Federation executives in the country.  He is a prolific writer on issues in the community and I constantly learn from him.  Obviously, someone doesn't become the head of the largest Jewish Federation in the world without a great educational background.  John is an alum of the University of Pittsburgh!!!

I received my undergraduate degrees from Columbia University and the Jewish Theological Seminary in the City of New York.  John got his degree here, I got mine there.

Here is our wager.  If (I actually mean "when") the Steelers win, John will buy and send me a Columbia University t-shirt and cap.  If, Hashem forbid, the Jets win, I will be sending John a t-shirt and cap from his alma mater, right down the street from the Federation office.
