Shabbat Shalom, Friday, January 13, 2012

The answer is yes.  Things are good.  We have so much positive energy, so much creativity, and so much collaboration in this Pittsburgh community.  But is everything perfect?  Not by a longshot!

We have issues with Jewish identity, Jewish poverty, connecting our next generation to our community, food deficiencies in poor Jewish communities around the world, financial issues, and so on.  I am always positive because I know that this community and its leadership can look any issue right in the eyes and figure out how to confront it.  That does not mean we will solve every problem.  In fact, we probably will not.  We will do our best to make a difference and that is exactly what we do on a daily basis.  That’s why I am always so positive.  It is not that everything is perfect.  It is not.  It is because I recognize that we have the kind of community that can develop the strategies to confront our problems and then find the financial resources to address them.

Have a positively wonderful Shabbat.

P.S.  I hope to see you on Tuesday, January 17th at 5:30 pm for the second Jewish Business and Professionals Network Happy Hour.  For more information,  click here.
