Shabbat Shalom, Thursday April 5, 2012

I'm not talking about the Pirates and opening day of the baseball season, but to the opening of Passover tomorrow night at the Seder.

We enter this Passover with new hopes and dreams for our team - the Jewish community.  We have an amazing lineup of volunteer leaders, staff and generous donors at the Federation.  We are strong on our offense in being forward looking to our future, while playing defensively in protecting what those who have become before us have established.

Passover is, in essence, the “opening day” of the Jewish people, as we became a nation as we left Egypt.  That momentous and historic moment happened, in part, because of the unity of the Jewish people.  Let us continue to build the cohesiveness of our Jewish community so that we can continue to do miraculous things.  We multiply our impact when we all come together to work collectively.

I wish each of you and your families a Chag Kasher v'Sameah - a very happy Passover.  And…Go Buccos!

Shabbat Shalom.
