Shabbat Shalom - Friday, July 15

Last night, I attended a gathering of young adults in a private home to discuss our Centennial Mega Mission next summer.  The excitement for this amazing trip to Israel is really gaining momentum.  I urge you to take a look around this website to see why this mission is so different from other missions or trips.  Consider joining our community to experience Israel and see where the events of the 17th of Tammuz and Tisha B'av took place.  Come with us to see modern Tel Aviv, the gorgeous Galilee, and the remnants of the walls of Jerusalem, including the supporting walls of the Temple Mount – now known as the Kotel or Western Wall.  What will make this mission so special is the balance between seeing our people's history and seeing our people's future.  You will be able to touch the stones which make up the steps of the Southern Wall leading up to the Temple Mount where our ancestors walked to enter the Temple and you will be able to meet Israelis, just like us, living in Karmiel and Misgav trying to build a future for their families and the State of Israel.

One other important note about the Mission is a tremendous offer for young adults.  We are just announcing that 46 subsidies of $2,000 each will be available for young adults (ages 25-45) starting at noon on Monday.  These will be given out on a first come, first serve basis and is our way of investing in our community's future.  For more information, click here.

We are still putting the finishing touches on our 2011 Annual Campaign which just crossed $12.6 Million.  At $12.6 Million, we have now raised more than we did in either the 2010 or 2009 Campaigns.  We still have a way to go to reach the number we believe we can, but I think we can all be proud for already surpassing this milestone.

Wishing you a Shabbat Shalom.
